Confession during COVID-19

Under canon law of the Roman Catholic Church, the sacrament of reconciliation is not valid unless conducted in the presence of a Catholic priest.

Fr. Terry is very willing to meet with you, with proper "social distancing".  He is available for appointments, whether in his office, an open part of church, or outside in the open air—depending on weather conditions.  In any event, you can be assured to have the privacy and sanctity the sacrament deserves. He can be reached at his office at 712-233-1652.

We also wanted to share this information below from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; for those times when for various reasons you cannot get to reconciliation physically, the CCC says that your sins are forgiven if, as soon as possible, you receive the sacrament of confession from a priest.

Where the individual faithful find themselves in the painful impossibility of receiving sacramental absolution, it should be remembered that perfect contrition, coming from the love of God, beloved above all things, expressed by a sincere request for forgiveness (that which the penitent is at present able to express) and accompanied by votum confessionis, that is, by the firm resolution to have recourse, as soon as possible, to sacramental confession, obtains forgiveness of sins, even mortal ones. (cf. CCC, no. 1452).”
