The information below is for your reference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all confirmation practices are being reviewed.
Young adults begin to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation during the freshman year of high school (9th grade).  For students who attend Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools (BHCS), the religion curriculum for all four (4) academic years fulfills the required course work for this sacrament.  Students who do not attend Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools must enroll in the Religious Education Preparation program (REP) for the required course work.  Please check the Religious Education page for more information regarding our program.  All students, whether attending BHCS or REP, receive the sacrament in the Church.

All students, whether attending BHCS or REP, begin monthly formation classes for the sacrament in the Church.  These meetings are designed to reinforce classroom teachings (catechesis) and offer coordination for all of the other Confirmation guidelines as set forth by the Diocese of Sioux City.  The Director of Faith Formation will coordinate interviews, opportunities for service projects, and other spiritual activities.  Attendance at all preparation events is strongly encouraged as pertinent information will be presented, and no make-up sessions are offered.

For more information, please contact Michelle Rethman, Director of Faith Formation, at the Parish Office (233-1652).
